"Mr. Big Shot"


The Colorado Miners are excited to announce tryouts for our 2010 Spring basketball teams for grades 3rd through 11th. We will participate in the following leagues/tournaments; 

Hoyt Brawner Tournaments

Spring JAM League

MAYB Tournaments

AAU Tournaments

National Tournaments  

Due to the high volume of participants, and the extra time needed to evaluate and finalize rosters, our try-outs have been extended for an additional week.

Tuesday March 9th for the high school players- New Hope 6pm-8pm

Wednesday March 10th for the 3rd-4th graders- Hill Middle School Ct #1 6pm-8pm

Wednesday March 10th for the 5th-6th graders- Hill Middle School Ct #2 6pm-8pm

Friday March 12th for the 7th-8th graders- Hill Middle School Ct #1 & 2 6pm-8pm

OUR MISSION:
To inspire a sense of responsibility, self-worth, confidence & leadership within young athletes for themselves, their families and their communities.

  • OUR GOALS:
    Build self-esteem and good sportsmanship
    Develop competitiveness through goal setting 
    Build social skills & character development 
    Develop friendships / relationships
    Promote physical fitness 
    Preparation for high school sports through exposure to top state & national       competition   
    Teach athletic fundamentals with an emphasis on having fun 
    Specialization in athletic skill enhancement.
 

Through athletic competition the youth learn and develop:

  • Self esteem and good sportsmanship/proper conduct in competition

  • Value of academic accomplishment and its impact on future success

  • The importance of goal setting, organization skills and their relationship to competitive achievement

  • Social skills development, fostering relationships, focus on teamwork

  • Respect for authority and appreciation of dedicated people who teach and support them

  • Recognize that hard work, cooperation, commitment to others, and giving of self provides special rewards and paths to success.
